Island Comfort
Introducing Island Comfort:
Located in Las Vegas, Island Comfort is a hidden gem for those seeking authentic Chamorro cuisine. This family-owned restaurant opened its doors in February 2021, offering a taste of Guam in the heart of Nevada. With a casual and welcoming atmosphere, Island Comfort provides a cozy dining experience that will transport you to the beautiful island of Guam.
As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the pleasure of exploring the menu at Island Comfort and indulging in their mouth-watering dishes. From BBQ chicken, pork spare ribs, beef short ribs, salmon, and shrimp to delectable sides like red rice, potato salad, and chicken kelaguen, every bite at Island Comfort is a flavorful journey.
One of the standout dishes at Island Comfort is the BBQ Chicken Plate, a generous portion that is both filling and incredibly delicious. The tender meat paired with their signature finadenne sauce and red rice creates a harmonious blend of flavors that will leave you craving more.
For dessert, don't miss out on their Buchibuchi, a delightful pumpkin pie empanada sourced from a local vendor. Light, crispy, and not overly sweet, this dessert perfectly complements the savory offerings at Island Comfort.
During my visit, I was impressed not only by the quality of the food but also by the exceptional service provided by LJ and Kaiser. Their attentiveness, kindness, and genuine care for their customers added to the overall dining experience, making me feel like a valued guest.
Island Comfort truly embodies the essence of Chamorro hospitality and flavors, delivering a taste of Guam to every plate. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning fan, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone craving comforting, authentic Chamorro cuisine.

Island Comfort makes delicious Chamorro food! You'll find them on Decatur and Cheyenne, near the Chiropractor and Barber Shop, next to an escalator. There's plenty of parking available. The place used to be Kapuna Cafe, and now it's Island Comfort. They opened on February 12, 2021. The restaurant is family-owned and makes authentic comfort food from the island of Guam. Inside is a casual dining area of two tables with additional counter seating. The atmosphere feels relaxing and welcoming with good music playing great songs like "No other love" and "Wade in your water" by Common Kings. Menu offers BBQ chicken, pork spare rib, beef short rib, salmon and shrimp, wings, empanada, and lumpia. All plates come with two scoops of red rice, potato salad, finadenne sauce, and traditional chicken kelaguen which is the island's version of an appetizing chicken salad. BBQ Chicken ($16.75) is a generous portion that's very filling, comforting, and amazingly delicious! Meat is tender and flavorful, love it with finadenne sauce and red rice. Potato salad is also good! I love chicken kelaguen, incredibly tasty with a nice spicy kick! And Lumpia is wonderful! It's crispy and has savory meat and rice vermicelli, so good! For dessert, Buchibuchi ($2) is delightful! It's sourced from a local vendor, the pastry is light and crispy like an empanada with tasty pumpkin pie filling, so yummy and not too sweet! Another treat offered is Apple Empanada, which is made in-house by Island Comfort. They do cater and highly recommend to place an order one week in advance. Service from LJ and Kaiser is exceptional and outstanding! They're very kind, attentive, personable, courteous, and polite. I really appreciate the nice and friendly service, the place has good island vibes, price is reasonable, and they make excellent comfort food!

I found this place by accident when leaving school and I'm genuinely in love! The service was quick, friendly and comforting! I haven't had authentic Guamanian food in over ten years and this tasted exactly how I remembered it, super delicious! The best part is they are family owned and you really get a genuine family experience. Thank you guys!

First time here and trying Chamarro food. Cute little place, with just a few tables. The food and service was awesome! As soon as we stepped in the owner, Shawn greeted us and went over their menu briefly. We decided on the All In Plate I think it was called. The plate was big! Everything was really tasty, and nicely marinated. The red rice was so delicious! My kids ate that up! Everything is made to order so it did take about 15-20 minutes. I especially loved that Shawn kept checking in with us and seeing if we were okay or needed anything. We will definitely be back to try more!
